About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Professional Flex Officer to serve and safeguard clients across industries including healthcare, education, and finance. Officers use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on their availability, building a flexible schedule while gaining experience at various sites. The role may involve irregular shifts with little to no advance notice. The position pays $21.00 per hour. Applicants must have an armed license, open availability, and a valid New Mexico driver’s license with a clean driving record for more than one year.

Requirements

• Must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license and a clean driving record for more than one year.
• Must have open availability.
• Must have an armed license.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed work, or older if required by state law.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screen, to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.
• Licensing requirements may apply before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or the fire department in the event of a fire or unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized property removal complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary under site Post Orders.
