As an Armed Security Officer supporting a public transit location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to emerging situations. Requirements

  • Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Hold an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate transit personnel and public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, vehicles, administrative spaces, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized access as directed by site procedures, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
