Requirements

Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and coordinating with appropriate personnel.
Prepare accurate reports, maintain required logs, and promptly communicate observations, incidents, and unusual conditions to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
