As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in CHICAGO, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license and armed guard card or license. You will deliver exceptional customer service and communication while supporting a caring, team-focused culture grounded in agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access control procedures, visitor inquiries, and enforcement of site-specific rules and policies.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports regarding incidents, observations, patrol activity, and security-related concerns in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
