As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Driver in Palo Alto, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or license.
  • Possess a 40 Caliber Endorsement.
  • Possess a California Weapons Permit with a 9mm Caliber Endorsement.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed, and maintain visitor and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
  • Report observed hazards, maintenance concerns, policy violations, and suspicious activity to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
