About The Position

The Armed Post Guard patrols and monitors premises to prevent theft, violence, and rule violations, while protecting people and property. The role requires knowledge of public safety and security, English, and customer service, along with skills in communication, active listening, critical thinking, monitoring, problem-solving, equipment operation, and time and resource management. The work setting varies and may involve interaction with the public, upset individuals, and occasionally dynamic or hazardous situations. A uniform is provided. Officers may need to walk or stand for the duration of a shift.

The position is full time in Beverly Hills, California, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 0800 to 1600. The hourly salary range is $22.00–$23.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED.
• Guard Card required.
• Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a satisfactory driving record.
• Valid firearm permit as required by company policy and BSIS.

Responsibilities

• Patrol industrial or commercial premises to detect signs of intrusion and help secure doors, windows, and gates.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and authorize the entry and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
• Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activity.
• Write reports documenting daily activities and irregularities, including damage, theft, unauthorized persons, and unusual occurrences.
• Contact police or fire departments in emergencies.
• Use provided communication devices to relay information clearly and concisely.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to maintain order and protect property.
• Provide customer service to clients and members of the public.
• Warn people about rule infractions and apprehend or evict violators, using force when necessary.
• Lock entrance and exit doors and gates to secure buildings.
• Follow post orders and other relevant site-related information.
• Respond to medical emergencies by administering basic first aid or obtaining paramedic assistance.
