About The Position

Security Engineers, Inc. is hiring a full-time Armed Patrol Security Officer to safeguard people and property. The role involves conducting patrols, controlling access, monitoring surveillance, responding to emergencies, carrying a firearm, completing reports, coordinating with law enforcement, and providing professional customer service while complying with licensing and legal requirements. The schedule is Thursday–Saturday, 11 p.m.–7 a.m., and Sunday–Monday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m. The pay range is $17.86–$19.00 per hour. Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and drug screen; a criminal background check may also be required by law for this safety-sensitive licensed security position.

Requirements

Have or be able to obtain a valid state security license.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Complete armed training and maintain a valid pistol permit.
Have a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle record that meets company-approved driver standards.
Be able to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Be available to work weekends.
Demonstrate strong situational awareness and curiosity.
Remain calm and problem-solve in critical situations.
Have basic computer skills and be able to use a tablet for reporting.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to stand for at least one hour without support or a break, sit for at least one hour without a break, and walk at least half a mile without stopping, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
One or more years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.
Alabama Security Regulatory Board License.
Ability to obtain any and all required security certifications or licenses.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols to enhance safety and identify security concerns.
Monitor access points and verify identification and credentials.
Enforce procedures in accordance with Security Post Instructions.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to protocol.
Maintain accurate logs of activities and observations.
Perform routine tasks such as locking and unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance.
Assist visitors and employees and address concerns professionally.
Enforce Security Engineers and client policies, including rules concerning smoking, loitering, and parking.
Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance.
