About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for a driving patrol post at a government corrections location in Burgaw, North Carolina. The officer will safeguard clients by conducting armed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring access, responding to incidents, and providing customer service. The role requires a valid driver’s license and armed credentials. The stated pay rate is $21.50 per hour. The schedule is Wednesday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
Have at least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements; a license is required for driving positions.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation, as permitted and required by applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and members of the public while following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas; identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and maintain awareness of movement throughout assigned locations.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and prepare required reports.
Operate assigned communications equipment and maintain accurate logs of patrols, incidents, and other security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.
