Area Store Manager Trainee

Farmers Home Furniture•Douglasville, GA

About The Position

The Area Store Manager Trainee (SMT) classification provides structured training and development for individuals sponsored by the Home Office (Corporate Office), with the goal of preparing and placing them in a permanent Store Manager position upon successful completion of the SMT Program. The program combines in-store operational training, online learning, role-based immersion, and in-person live training events. Trainees progressively learn, practice, and demonstrate proficiency in major areas of store operations while supporting daily functions at assigned training locations. The SMT’s primary priority is completing all program training requirements. The trainee also supports daily store operations, which may involve working across multiple locations, managing a store in the Store Manager’s absence, and traveling overnight to other training locations. Completion of the program makes the trainee eligible for placement in a permanent Store Manager role, depending on company needs, performance readiness, and geographic availability. Placement is coordinated by the Home Office with Operations leadership. The role upholds and promotes Farmers Furniture’s H.O.M.E. values: Helping others, developing Ordinary people to do extraordinary things, being a Motivated owner that cares, and Ensuring that excellence is a habit personally and for those entrusted to them to lead. Farmers Furniture is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an environment free of harassment and discrimination, and it provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
