About The Position

Community Concierge Services (CCS) is seeking a hands-on Area Operations Manager to lead employees, service quality, and client relationships within an assigned district. CCS provides doorstep waste and recycling collection for apartment communities nationwide, employing more than 700 people and serving over 175,000 apartment homes each night. This role offers broader responsibility across multiple communities with a growing, founder-led company. The position combines evening field leadership with daytime recruiting, administrative work, and client communication. Peak operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight, and evening and weekend availability is essential because service operates seven days a week. The manager regularly travels between properties and markets, and may need to travel to neighboring areas. The role requires arranging coverage for call-offs and no-shows and personally covering routes when other options are exhausted. Fieldwork involves extended walking, repeated stair climbing, carrying bagged trash, and working outdoors. Daytime flexibility depends on completing responsibilities and meeting operational needs; service or staffing issues may require work beyond typical operating hours. This is a full-time commitment that cannot be performed alongside another full-time job. The manager recruits, hires, onboards, trains, and coaches part-time collection employees; maintains staffing and backup coverage; oversees nightly service execution; inspects service and follows up on corrections; supports employees onsite; and ensures they have needed safety equipment, supplies, and app access. The role also manages property-manager communications, payroll, service reports, employee documentation, company-system records, and coordination for new community launches. The company welcomes candidates with supervisory experience in related hourly or field-service industries. Previous valet trash experience is helpful but not required. An onsite work preview is part of the hiring process so candidates can see the service environment, understand physical demands, and ask about the schedule and responsibilities before accepting an offer.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience to be eligible for a company vehicle.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and be on your feet for miles at a time without assistance.
  • Ability to meet the travel, schedule, and physical requirements of the position, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
  • Comfort using mobile apps and basic computer systems for reporting, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Strong work ethic, including completing both field and administrative tasks daily.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours; service operates seven days a week.
  • Ability to handle daytime recruiting, payroll, client communication, and team support as operational needs require.
  • Full-time commitment; the role cannot be performed alongside another full-time job.
  • Experience supervising hourly or part-time employees, particularly with scheduling, attendance issues, employee coaching, and customer concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous valet trash experience.
  • Supervisory experience in field services, commercial cleaning or janitorial operations, security, parking or valet services, hotels or housekeeping, restaurants or quick-service operations, staffing or branch operations, or apartment maintenance.

  • Coordinate new community launches, including staffing, equipment distribution, and resident information.
  • Travel between properties and markets to support employees, inspect service, and resolve issues.
  • Arrange coverage when employees call off or fail to arrive, and personally cover routes when other coverage options are exhausted.
