About The Position

The Area Manager – Floor (grocery) is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area by communicating goals, managing staffing and schedules, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals for production, quality, and safety. The role monitors productivity and reviews business reports, maintains quality and safety standards, and addresses associate, customer, or supplier concerns. The manager also supervises and develops associates and leaders through workload coordination, performance monitoring, feedback, training, coaching, hiring, and evaluation. The role is expected to demonstrate Walmart’s leadership behaviors: respect individuals, act with integrity, serve customers and members, and strive for excellence. Requirements

Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; OR 1 year of Walmart Logistics Management experience; OR 2 years of Walmart Logistics experience; OR 2 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Communicate verbally and in writing with individuals and groups, including customers, suppliers, and associates.
Implement the business plan for the area by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals.
Monitor area productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.
Maintain quality and safety standards by training associates on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures; monitoring compliance; and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
Identify associate, customer, and supplier concerns, consult with others as needed, and determine corrective actions or make recommendations to resolve concerns.
Supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching and supporting employees, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, and evaluation.
Build high-performing teams, embrace differences, foster belonging, and create opportunities for associates to thrive.
Collaborate and build trusting relationships; communicate with impact and positivity to motivate and influence others.
