About The Position

The Arbitration Specialist helps protect Carvana from unnecessary costs while ensuring fair outcomes with auctions, sellers, and reconditioning partners. The role involves reviewing vehicle condition data, validating it against NAAA guidelines, and submitting well-documented arbitration claims. The specialist uses analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication to negotiate fair resolutions that support customers and the business.

The position requires managing multiple cases, maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating across departments, and reporting on arbitration performance. Training is provided on NAAA arbitration policies and auction processes if needed.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must pass a complete background check.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Jira and Tableau.
• Understanding of NAAA arbitration policies and auction processes; training is provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Submit and manage NAAA, Title, and Logistics arbitration claims accurately and on time.
• Compare and validate reconditioning department information against Vehicle Condition Reports, manufacturer warranties, and NAAA arbitration policies.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data to determine claim eligibility and make arbitration recommendations.
• Negotiate transparent resolutions with auctions, sellers, and internal partners.
• Maintain detailed and accurate case records for documentation and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Reconditioning, Purchasing, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve issues.
• Track and report arbitration performance metrics and identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
