About The Position
The Apprentice Technician supports the service team by performing minor repairs and routine maintenance while learning hands-on under the guidance of an assigned Master Technician mentor. The role is designed to build the foundational skills and experience needed to advance into a flat-rate technician position. OEM training and on-the-job mentorship are provided. Compensation is listed as $20 per hour (flat-rate), based on experience, certifications, and skill level. A tenure bonus begins after six months, offering up to $3.50 per flat-rate hour turned. The bonus increases with tenure and is paid annually. The posting also lists yearly compensation of USD 45,760–50,000. This is a full-time position. Sundays are always off, and Saturday availability is required. Requirements
- Ability to work full-time and maintain reliable attendance.
- Previous shop or dealership experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in automotive repair.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures and dealership guidelines.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements, including a background check, MVR, and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an automotive technology program, such as UTI, WyoTech, or a similar program, is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a Master Technician mentor to learn dealership procedures and technical skills.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs as outlined on repair orders.
- Assist with vehicle inspections to identify additional service needs.
- Learn to diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete repairs under supervision.
- Complete required OEM online training as part of the apprentice curriculum.
- Request guidance as needed and maintain an active learning mindset.
