Apprentice Creative Repair Specialist
About The Position
Surface Experts of Bethesda is seeking an Apprentice Creative Repair Specialist. This role involves using creativity to match colors and repair various interior surfaces such as countertops, glass cooktops, doors and cabinets, wood and LVP flooring, stainless steel, and fiberglass tubs and showers. The job offers an artistic outlet to complete repairs, usually in an hour or less, and is not expected to be replaced by AI. The company is a local business with an owner who works alongside the team daily, providing a supportive work environment with mentorship opportunities and ongoing repair training.
Requirements
- Talent with color is vital in matching colors and patterns for complex repairs.
- Experience working with your hands - This could be in construction, manufacturing, painting, or even a personal hobby.
- A driver’s license and a clean driving record
- A college degree (Associates or Bachelors)
- Curiosity. Are you excited by new challenges?
- A keen eye for color matching and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with hand tools and an interest in mechanical or repair work.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team with an excellent work ethic.
- The desire to serve by going the extra mile - Making our customers happy may take a little extra, we want folks you love going home at the end of the day knowing how happy they made their customer.
Nice To Haves
- Backgrounds in painting, sculpting, whittling, drawing, and other visual arts of various mediums can excel at Surface Experts.
- Desire to learn how to repair bathtubs, counters, floors, and cabinets (No prior experience? No problem—we’ll train you!).
Responsibilities
- Complete 4 or more creative repairs on-site each day
- Perform work on-location while displaying good customer service and communication
- Problem-solve with repairs in a variety of settings like apartments, hotels, moving sites, construction sites, etc.
