About The Position

Raymour & Flanigan offers a Furniture Repair Technician in Training Program for associates seeking to learn furniture repair and build a career. Trainees learn to repair furniture for customers, including upholstery stitching, wood and leather repair, and mechanisms in motion furniture. Training takes place in the company’s service centers and lasts 7–12 weeks, with monetary growth based on skill completion. The program includes five levels of craftsmanship techniques covering color, finishes, upholstery, leather, and structural repair.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull furniture weighing up to and in excess of 100 pounds.
• Comfort working with hands and aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic work, and/or carpentry services.
• High level of attention to detail and professionalism.
• Knowledge of mixing paints, powders, and stains to match existing finishes.
• Ability to repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstered furniture, or mechanical parts.
• Ability to set up and operate power drills, sanders, saws, and other repair tools.
• Excellent listening skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Learn to repair furniture, including stitching upholstery and repairing wood, leather, and motion-furniture mechanisms.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild damaged leather, upholstered furniture, and mechanical parts.
• Mix paints, powders, and stains to match existing finishes.
• Set up and operate power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools needed for repairs.
• Lift, lower, push, and pull furniture of all sizes, including items weighing over 100 pounds.
• Work independently and collaboratively with a team while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
