About The Position

Jordan’s Furniture is hiring a Furniture Repair Technician to repair furniture in customers’ homes and provide excellent customer service. Technicians are trained to repair a range of furniture, including upholstery, wood, leather, and motion-furniture mechanisms. The role is a four-month apprenticeship, with promotion upon completion of the training program. The position is based out of the Reading, Massachusetts store, with training at the Nashua, New Hampshire warehouse. During training, the schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, out of the Taunton warehouse. The pay range is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. Requirements

Be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively in difficult customer situations.

Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

Nice To Haves

Experience in furniture repair, or motivation to learn a new trade.

Responsibilities

Refinish and patch damaged furniture using paint, stain, enamel, or lacquer, and mix paints and stains to match existing finishes.
Repair, replace, or rebuild damaged leather or upholstered furniture and mechanical parts.
Set up and operate power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repairs.
Complete repair-related paperwork and other required documentation.
Safely drive a company van to customers’ homes to assess and repair damaged furniture.
Educate and inform customers about repair techniques and warranty programs.
