About The Position

Casey Auto Group is hiring an Apprentice Automotive Technician for a tuition-free development path toward becoming an A-level technician. Apprentices learn and develop their skills under the guidance of experienced automotive technicians. This is not an entry-level position; the employer seeks technicians with general repair experience who want to advance their careers. Compensation is based on experience. The position includes paid training and opportunities for career advancement and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Formal education in automotive technology, either completed or currently in progress, and/or professional technician experience in a shop, such as automotive technician, lube technician, general service technician, express service technician, or apprentice technician.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
• Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Great attitude, work ethic, and attendance.
• Must have basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general vehicle maintenance.
• Work alongside experienced technicians and learn from their guidance.
• Test systems and components to check that they are secure and functioning properly.
• Identify systems or components that may have caused a problem.
• Drive vehicles for testing purposes and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles efficiently and accurately.
• Repair or replace worn parts before vehicle breakdown or damage.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform tasks.
