About The Position

Shively Motors is seeking an Automotive Technician Apprentice for a hands-on role in automotive service and repair in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The position offers practical experience developing vehicle maintenance and repair skills under the guidance of experienced technicians. The apprentice will support work on a variety of makes and models, help provide customer satisfaction, and communicate findings and necessary repairs to Service Managers. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interest in automotive technology and repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive service and repair equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service repairs on vehicles.
• Examine vehicles for hazards, defects, and wear to identify necessary repairs.
• Inspect, test, adjust, repair, and service vehicles, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Learn to operate automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Communicate findings and required repairs with Service Managers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety protocols and company policies.
• Document repairs and services performed accurately.
