Applied AI Engineer, Go-to-Market

Tutor Intelligence•Watertown, MA
•$130,000 - $250,000

About The Position

Tutor Intelligence is hiring its first Applied AI Engineer dedicated to Go-to-Market (GTM). The engineer will build and steward the software systems that support how Tutor finds, wins, and grows customers across the physical economy. This is a hands-on technical role focused on writing and owning software, building workflows, tools, and AI agents from scratch, and embedding with the GTM team to deliver measurable outcomes. The engineer will work alongside account executives, sales enablement, and demand generation, and connect GTM systems with Tutor’s robots, deployments, data, and AI capabilities. The role is part of Tutor’s forward-deployed AI engineering team, whose members are embedded across deployment, manufacturing, maintenance, and hardware and software engineering. The new hire will take over and extend existing GTM tools, then adapt them as the business grows. The work is largely self-directed: identifying goals, designing systems, and improving processes in close contact with the people who use them. The engineer will join customer calls and trade shows, observe deployments, and measure work by its impact on pipeline, conversion, and seller time.

Requirements

  • Has architected and shipped a real system end to end, such as a product, internal tool, or infrastructure, and can explain its design choices.
  • Can write working software using Python or TypeScript, SQL, and APIs, and builds with LLMs and AI coding tools regularly.
  • Has a technical background and experience or interest in another area such as product, strategy, operations, sales, or founding a company.
  • Demonstrated passion for, interest in, or experience with go-to-market, including selling, growth, partnerships, or building for sales teams; a prior GTM job title is not required.
  • Learns quickly, takes on ambiguous problems with little direction, and is motivated to make an impact.
  • Wants to be embedded in a business function; this is not a product engineering or research role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operations, manufacturing, logistics, or other industrial customers.
  • Experience building go-to-market systems at an early-stage B2B company, ideally in hardware or robotics.
  • Technical program management or product management experience, or experience as a founder or first-of-function hire.
  • Experience with data warehouses and BI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build the systems supporting Tutor’s go-to-market motion, including CRM features and data models where off-the-shelf tools fall short.
  • Build AI agents to automate sales workflows, including account research, outbound, call preparation, follow-ups, and deal qualification.
  • Use AI and software to map markets and Tutor’s penetration across the physical economy, and inform where the company should expand.
  • Connect go-to-market systems with robot performance and deployment data, the demo center, internal documentation, and Tutor’s agent platform so sellers can demonstrate customer outcomes.
  • Take over and extend existing tools, maintaining and scaling them as the team and business grow.
  • Work alongside account executives, join customer calls and trade shows, observe deployments, and identify opportunities to build new systems.
  • Measure shipped work by its effect on pipeline, conversion, and seller time.

Benefits

  • Fully employer-covered health insurance.
  • Managed 401(k).
  • Unlimited paid time off and federal holidays off for full-time salaried employees.
  • For hourly employees, 16 or more days of accrued paid time off and 1.5x pay on federal holidays.
  • Regular in-office meals and team social events throughout the year.
