About The Position

Spalding, a Saalex Company, is seeking an Application/Systems Administrator to support its work delivering professional services and technology solutions to the Department of War. The role is based in Patuxent River, Maryland, and is hybrid, with on-site support required approximately three days per week. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed for patching and upgrades. The position supports installation, integration, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and security implementation of software applications, primarily on Windows systems. Applications include Microsoft Office products, Java JRE, Visual Studio, and Raytheon EAGLE. The administrator also supports operations and sustainment of AWS cloud-native services, specifically AWS GovCloud, and provides ticket-based support to application owners, developers, and internal and external teams.

Requirements

Experience troubleshooting software issues.
Knowledge of DISA STIGs and how to implement them.
CompTIA Security+ certification; proof of certification is required before interview.
A BS/BA or AS/AA degree and 7 years of related experience, or a high school diploma and 9 years of related experience.
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI, or the ability to meet the stated clearance requirements; obtaining a clearance requires U.S. citizenship and a security investigation.

Nice To Haves

Active or interim TS/SSBI clearance is desired.
Application installation, configuration, or administration experience on Windows-based systems; experience with large-scale or complex application configuration is a plus.
A strong foundation and understanding of AWS native services; AWS GovCloud experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, integrate, configure, test, troubleshoot, and implement security for software applications, with a focus on Windows systems.
Support Microsoft Office products, Java JRE, Visual Studio, and Raytheon EAGLE.
Operate and sustain AWS cloud-native services, specifically AWS GovCloud.
Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
Provide ticketing-system support to application owners, developers, and internal and external teams.
