About The Position

The Application Engineer provides technical support and application expertise for Partial Discharge (PD) diagnostics in the North American region, including on-site and remote customer support. The role supports PD testing and analysis for transformers, switchgear (AIS and GIS), rotating machines, cables, and other high-voltage assets. It includes customer visits, field demonstrations, commissioning, troubleshooting, training, and product consultation on PD theory, diagnostic methods, data analysis, reporting, and asset condition assessment. The engineer works with sales engineers on technical pre-sales and post-sales support, coordinates technical issues among customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups, and shares structured field feedback with product management. The role also contributes to application notes, technical documentation, training materials, conference papers, and presentations as experience grows, supports other primary testing technologies, and performs other duties as assigned. Level placement is based on relevant experience, technical capability, independence, assignment complexity, customer-facing responsibility, and depth of PD expertise.
