About The Position

Themis Insight is hiring an Application Engineer 4 (API) to work in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. The position location may change based on the needs of a central Maryland client. The role supports the Secure the Enterprise initiative, which seeks to replace manual system security evaluation and authorization with automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering throughout a project's life cycle.

The Application Engineer (Backend) will develop, test, deploy, and sustain Python-based REST endpoints, microservices, and data-model management capabilities. The role uses Django or Flask to interact with data models stored in MariaDB or MongoDB and return requested data in JSON format to user-interface front ends. The developer also provides middleware and backend support for system applications. A TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Python experience.
• Docker experience.
• Experience with Django or Flask.
• Database experience with MongoDB or MariaDB.
• REST endpoint development experience.
• Experience with a microservice model.
• Technical-field education and experience: 12 years minimum with a high school diploma/GED; 10 years with an associate's degree; 8 years with a bachelor's degree; 6 years with a master's degree; or 4 years with a doctorate.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and sustain Python-based REST endpoints and microservices.
• Develop and maintain data-model management capabilities using Django or Flask.
• Interact with data models stored in MariaDB or MongoDB and provide requested data in JSON format to UI front ends.
• Provide middleware and backend support to system applications.
• Support the Secure the Enterprise initiative's automation, streamlined authorization, continuous monitoring, assessment, and network data-gathering capabilities.
