Application Developer
About The Position
Globus Medical is seeking an experienced Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications. The developer will guide the development team, promote coding best practices, and support successful project delivery. The role covers backend and frontend development, cloud deployment, DevOps, application monitoring, and ownership of the software development lifecycle, while collaborating with business analysts, product owners, UX/UI designers, and cross-functional teams. The position supports Globus Medical’s mission to improve the quality of life of patients with musculoskeletal disorders through technology that improves surgical techniques and outcomes. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a developer role.
- Backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Frontend development experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, API Gateway, microservices, and Java messaging services.
- Database experience with Oracle, Firebase, and Redis.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role: sitting; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds; and possessing close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capacity to adjust focus.

Responsibilities
- Provide guidance on architecture, design, and coding best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to define technical requirements.
- Architect and implement scalable, high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Promote code quality, maintainability, and security through code reviews, best practices, and design patterns.
- Drive agile methodologies, including scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Own the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot, Jersey, and Hibernate.
- Implement asynchronous messaging using Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and Firebase, to optimize data storage and retrieval.
- Optimize application performance and scalability using caching mechanisms such as Redis and Memcached.
- Develop responsive, interactive UI components using Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Integrate UI components with RESTful APIs.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize UI performance.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Deploy applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure using CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters for application deployment.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using the ELK Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Drive peer code reviews and unit testing.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Security, and other cross-functional teams to support seamless delivery.
- Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Follow the company Code of Conduct, AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and other company policies.
- Complete introductory and annual compliance training and maintain knowledge of applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct.
