About The Position

The Application Developer supports and develops operational, commercial, and financial business intelligence (BI), business process and workflow automation, and predictive analytics solutions using AI/ML technologies. The role primarily supports the KM Natural Gas business unit and requires strong technical expertise, analytical ability, and the capacity to work independently on complex assignments. The position reports directly to the Director of IT Business Solutions. The developer translates business requirements into technical specifications and develops and supports applications, system interfaces, reporting, data aggregation and transformations, enterprise data models, and business analytics tools. The role supports existing SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and SSIS solutions and collaborates with the IT AI-BI Team on future enterprise BI and data analytics solutions. It also partners with business and IT groups to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and ensure solutions follow organizational strategy, IT standards, and security policies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
Advanced expertise in SQL, Power BI, SSRS, Excel, and Python.
Ability to write, analyze, and maintain complex SQL, DAX, and Python scripts.
Ability to learn and develop within new tools, such as Palantir Foundry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to prioritize work effectively in deadline-driven, high-pressure environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

Gather, interpret, and translate business requirements into technical specifications for new and existing solutions.
Develop and support bolt-on applications, system interfaces, reporting, data aggregation and transformations, enterprise data modeling, and business analytics tools.
Support existing SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and SSIS solutions and collaborate with the IT AI-BI Team on future enterprise BI and data analytics solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and business process issues while minimizing disruption to business operations.
Maintain current documentation for supported solutions and processes.
Ensure solutions align with organizational strategy, IT standards, and security policies.
Partner with business and IT groups to design and support solutions.
Provide clear communication and updates to management and stakeholders as needed.
Collaborate with business counterparts to identify opportunities for system optimization, process improvement, and cost reduction.
Develop and refine procedures to improve system performance and meet evolving business needs.
Maintain awareness of industry innovations, best practices, and emerging technologies applicable to BI, AI, and automation.
