About The Position

Home Appliance is hiring an Appliance Repair Technician Apprentice for individuals who are mechanically inclined, curious about how things work, and ready to build a skilled career. No previous appliance repair experience is required. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, enjoys solving problems, working with tools, and learning new technology. The apprenticeship includes approximately eight weeks of paid training at $20 per hour, covering working alongside experienced technicians, manufacturer instruction, classroom learning, online courses, and hands-on practice. Upon successful completion of training and demonstration of independent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, apprentices may begin running their own route and become eligible for commission in addition to base pay.

  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and safely lift or move heavy objects
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Willing to complete the company’s background investigation and drug-screening process
  • Able to qualify as a driver under the company’s vehicle insurance policy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in maintenance, automotive repair, HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, construction, electronics, equipment repair, or another hands-on field

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose problems with kitchen and laundry appliances
  • Repair refrigerators, ranges, ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other major household appliances
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations
  • Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, technical resources, and manufacturer information
  • Determine the parts and procedures needed to complete a repair
  • Explain appliance problems and recommended solutions clearly to customers
  • Provide accurate repair estimates within company procedures
  • Teach customers how to properly operate and care for their appliances
  • Maintain accurate service records, notes, and documentation
  • Manage parts and inventory carried in your service truck
  • Keep your company truck clean, safe, and organized
  • Safely operate a company-provided service truck
  • Deliver a professional and respectful experience in customers’ homes
  • Use company resources and support systems when facing unfamiliar problems
