About The Position

At Goodwill, work helps fuel job creation, career training, and vital community services by turning donations into opportunities. The Apparel Quality Specialist sorts donated clothing according to quality standards, identifies higher-value items for special handling, organizes items, and supports sales-floor operations. The role also involves maintaining production records, keeping work areas clean and safe, and assisting other store roles as needed. Starting pay is $15 per hour.

Requirements

No experience is necessary; a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required.
Attention to detail when sorting items for quality and value.
Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move bins of clothing.
Reliable, responsible, and respectful team-player qualities.
Commitment to personal growth, teamwork, and Goodwill’s mission.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and sometimes up to 50 pounds.
Strong close and depth vision.
Ability to perform frequent reaching above and below the shoulders and pulling, throwing, twisting, and turning, with occasional talking, walking, pushing, bending, and stooping.

Responsibilities

Sort donated clothing to determine whether items meet quality standards.
Identify and separate higher-value clothing for special handling.
Organize sellable and unsellable items into the appropriate bins.
Track daily production counts and maintain records.
Hang and group clothing using the color rotation system.
Stock clothing on the sales floor or remove it as needed.
Keep work areas clean, safe, and compliant with procedures.
Support other roles, including donation processor, hanger, and cashier, as needed.
Report theft, safety, or security concerns to management.
