About The Position

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an APP to work in their CC APP unit in Boston, MA. This is a teaching hospital with an ICU practice setting. The APP will function as a "responding clinician" and will round with the Attending in the morning, complete tasks, and round again in the afternoon. The role does not involve billing for APPs. The average daily census is 7 patients, with 10 beds in the unit. The patient age group is adult. Procedures are limited to bread and butter ICU and Med Surg, with 1-2 burn patients. APPs will not perform intubations, lines, vents, transplants, ECHO, heads, EVD, or complex neuro strokes.

Requirements

  • Board Certifications Req’d in Acute Care with the ICU experience
  • MA State License
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • DEA required
  • 2 years of experience in critical care
  • PAs are preferred due to licensing timeframes (3-5 weeks vs. 8-12 weeks for NPs)
  • Must apply before client can initiate the appointment

  • Some independence is good
  • Ideally local providers who can stay in town
  • Local candidates who can take train/subway/drive in
