About The Position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and assists with the proper physical and mechanical upkeep of the property. The role handles resident service requests, routine property and equipment checks, repairs, unit preparation, and general cleanliness and safety. The technician may also be assigned after-hours on-call duties.

Requirements

High school diploma.
HVAC certification.
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Excellent diagnostic skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency in completing job tasks.
Ability to follow instructions efficiently.
Ability to maintain a friendly, professional attitude with prospects, residents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Fulfill customer service requests promptly as assigned.
Complete daily rounds and check mechanical equipment, recreational facilities, and other functional or safety concerns.
Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and heating system repairs.
Prepare and turn vacant units and suites.
Pick up and clean grounds and common areas.
Perform light carpentry work.
Repair drywall and complete finish work.
Touch up painting.
Take after-hours on-call duties as assigned.
Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the property's interior and exterior.
Give immediate attention to areas that pose risks to the life safety of residents and customers, such as fire alarms and trip hazards.
