About The Position

Monarch is hiring a full-time, year-round Apartment Maintenance Technician for an apartment community in Minot, North Dakota. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call duty one week every four weeks. Overtime may be available. The role involves completing work orders, preparing units between tenants, performing interior and exterior maintenance, and participating in seasonal snow removal. Candidates must complete a maintenance skills assessment and demonstrate their ability to perform basic job duties during the interview process. Pre-employment screening includes a criminal background check and drug screening.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
At least one year of apartment maintenance experience.
Physical ability to service condensing units on roofs.
Ability to perform drywall repairs and installation, painting, and carpentry.
Working knowledge of plumbing, including sweating copper pipe.
Working knowledge of electrical systems, including outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
Working knowledge of diagnosing and repairing appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and garbage disposals.
Knowledge of electric and gas water heaters.
Willingness to participate in on-call coverage.
Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background and drug screenings.
Ability to complete a maintenance skills assessment and demonstrate basic job duties during the interview process.

Responsibilities

Complete work orders in a timely manner according to priority.
Prepare and turn units between tenants, including make-ready work.
Perform interior and exterior painting and staining.
Perform exterior structural maintenance as needed.
Participate in on-call coverage one week every four weeks.
Perform snow removal when needed during the winter season.
