About The Position

Join Kay Apartment Communities’ NC Specialist team at an 876-unit apartment community in Silver Spring, Maryland. NC Specialist means that you and your team are responsible for keeping all property areas neat and clean and free of trash and debris. As part of the service department, you help maintain the physical integrity of the property while providing exceptional customer service and a pleasant living experience for residents. The position reports to the service manager, service supervisor, or community manager. The role involves cleaning grounds and shared spaces, assisting with seasonal upkeep and apartment preparation, supporting contractors, and communicating with residents, guests, visitors, and staff in accordance with company policies and Fair Housing laws. No prior grounds experience is required. Extended hours, including after-hours work and weekends, are required. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

Maintain excellent curb appeal by keeping public and common areas neat and clean.
Clean grounds, remove trash and debris, and sweep sidewalks and pathways.
Clean and maintain common areas, including the pool deck, laundry rooms, parking areas, mail rooms, corridors, stairwells, hallways, storage room, and maintenance shops.
Remove trash from office areas.
Keep dumpster areas neat by removing or relocating bulk trash.
Assist with watering flowerbeds and planters during summer and keeping walkways free of snow and ice during winter.
Assist in preparing apartments to be rented.
Deliver resident correspondence and announcements.
Assist service contractors.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with residents, guests, visitors, and staff while following company policies and Fair Housing laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
