AP Language/English Tutor
About The Position
C2 Education seeks an AP Language/English Tutor to provide high-quality, part-time instruction following the company’s curriculum and educational philosophy. The role supports students’ academic growth by creating a positive learning environment and delivering instruction aligned with learning goals. The tutor must be able to teach in person. Sessions are held after school hours to accommodate students, typically Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; schedules may vary by location. The position is based in Rancho Bernardo, San Diego, California, and offers $24.00–$30.00 per hour. Travel is negligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Score at the 95th percentile on the company’s diagnostic SAT, AP, or ACT test.
- Ability to tutor in person.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
- Proficiency in educational technology and software.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success.
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum and learning goals.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive and enriching learning environment.
- Communicate with parents or guardians about student progress and concerns.
- Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
- Follow C2 Educational Systems Inc.'s policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties relevant to the position and students’ needs, as assigned.
