About The Position

Thrive Tutoring is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and experienced AP Economics Tutor to provide individualized academic support to a high school student in Hendersonville, TN. The ideal candidate has a strong background in economics, experience working with high school students, and familiarity with the AP curriculum. The tutor will break down complex economic concepts, build student confidence, and support academic success.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics.
• Familiarity with the College Board AP Economics curriculum and exam expectations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to make challenging concepts approachable.
• Reliable, professional, and passionate about helping students succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience tutoring or teaching high school economics.
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Education, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics.
• Support understanding of key economic principles, graphs, models, and real-world applications.
• Assist with coursework, exam preparation, and AP-style practice questions.
• Identify areas of difficulty and adapt instruction to meet the student's learning needs.
• Help students develop effective study strategies and independent problem-solving skills.
• Communicate progress and areas for growth with the family and Thrive team.

Benefits

• Compensation of $60–$85 depending on experience.
