About The Position

Thrive Tutoring is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and experienced AP Economics Tutor to provide individualized academic support to a high school student. The tutor will help the student understand AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics, prepare for coursework and exams, and develop confidence and independent study skills. The role includes adapting instruction to the student's learning needs and communicating progress with the family and Thrive team.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics.
• Familiarity with the College Board AP Economics curriculum and exam expectations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to make challenging concepts approachable.
• Reliability, professionalism, and a passion for helping students succeed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience tutoring or teaching high school economics.
• A bachelor's degree in Economics, Education, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics.
• Support understanding of economic principles, graphs, models, and real-world applications.
• Assist with coursework, exam preparation, and AP-style practice questions.
• Identify areas of difficulty and adapt instruction to the student's learning needs.
• Help the student develop effective study strategies and independent problem-solving skills.
• Communicate progress and areas for growth with the family and Thrive team.
