English Tutor
About The Position
C2 Education is seeking an English Tutor to provide high-quality, part-time instruction in line with C2 Educational Systems Inc.'s curriculum and educational philosophy. The role focuses on creating a positive learning environment and supporting students' academic growth and development. C2 Education supports students with college test preparation, AP exams, college essays and admissions, K–12 tutoring, and AP/Summer Boot Camps. The position is based at the Millbrae C2 location in Millbrae, California. In-person tutoring is required. Sessions take place after school and are typically Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; schedules may vary by location. Travel is negligible. The position is part-time, with an hourly salary range of $24.00 to $30.00.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Score at the 95th percentile on C2's diagnostic SAT, AP, or ACT test.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
- Proficiency in educational technology and software.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success.
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time capacity.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of teaching experience in a relevant subject area.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Experience developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Experience using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum and learning goals.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive and enriching learning environment.
- Communicate with parents or guardians about student progress and concerns.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
- Adhere to C2 Educational Systems Inc.'s policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are relevant to the position and students' needs.
- Tutor students in person.
