About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Bass Pet Resort. This hands-on role involves caring for pets in a resort setting, including maintaining clean and safe spaces, providing food and water, monitoring animals, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. The work can be physically demanding and involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus, but is not required for applicants who are eager to learn. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Requirements
- Strong love for animals.
- Maintain a cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work that can get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal-care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their waste.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure they are clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
