About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Ruff Housing Cary. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet-care center, including maintaining clean and safe spaces, serving food and water, monitoring pets, supervising play, and helping with grooming and bathing. The position requires working on your feet and handling cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the work and eager to learn are welcome. Weekend availability and some weekday morning availability are required; evenings, weekends, and holidays are also noted as required availability. Requirements

Have a strong love for animals.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Be willing to perform hands-on work that may involve getting dirty.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
Be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Have weekend availability and some weekday morning availability.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime.
Assist with brushing and bath time.
Handle laundry and pet belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
