About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Pet Palace South Charlotte. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet care facility, including maintaining clean and safe spaces, providing food and water, monitoring pets, supervising play, and assisting with grooming-related tasks. It is an active job that requires standing and moving throughout the shift and working around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

A strong love for animals.
A calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to get hands-on and perform dirty work.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise playtime and activities such as fetch.
Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
Handle laundry and pet belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
