About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Ruff Housing Cary to provide hands-on care for pets in a pet care center offering services such as daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary care. The role involves maintaining clean and safe animal areas, feeding and monitoring pets, supervising play, assisting with grooming and bathing, and handling laundry and pet belongings. This is a physically active position that involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including elimination, and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
