About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Dog Spot Hotel. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests, including keeping their enclosures and play areas clean and safe, providing meals and fresh water, monitoring their health and behavior, supervising playtime, and assisting with brushing and bathing. The attendant also handles laundry and pets’ belongings, and reports anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager. This is an active role that requires standing and walking for the duration of a shift, frequent stair climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

• A strong love for animals.
• A calm and professional demeanor.
• Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and frequently stand, walk, and climb stairs.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

• Prior kennel or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

• Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
• Provide meals and fresh water to pet guests.
• Monitor pets’ health and well-being, including observing their waste and behavior.
• Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Supervise playtime and activities.
• Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
• Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
