About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Norwichtown Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet care facility, helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for animals and their families. The position requires working on your feet and handling physical, cleaning-related, and animal-care tasks. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but applicants who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and wellbeing, including observing and reporting on waste and other details.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to keep them clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
