Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Hound Dog Pet Hotel West to provide hands-on care for pets in a boarding and daycare environment. The role involves maintaining clean and sanitary pet enclosures and play areas, serving meals and fresh water, monitoring pets’ health and well-being, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. It also includes handling laundry and pet belongings and reporting unusual observations to the General or Assistant Manager. This is an active, hands-on position that requires standing and being on your feet throughout the shift, as well as frequent walking and stair climbing. The job involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Shifts are scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required, including Sunday availability for the 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one's feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Sunday availability is required for the 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift.
- Comfort with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Nice To Haves

- Eagerness to learn for candidates who are new to animal care.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
