About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Rover Resort to provide hands-on care for pets in a pet care facility. The role focuses on maintaining clean, safe, and sanitized enclosures and play areas; providing meals and fresh water; monitoring each pet’s health and well-being; and helping guests feel comfortable and cared for. The attendant also supervises playtime, assists with brushing and bathing, and handles laundry and pets’ belongings. This is an active, on-your-feet position involving frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing, lifting up to 40 pounds, and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but enthusiastic applicants who are new to the field are welcome. The role reports to the General Manager. Starting pay is $14.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.

Requirements

A strong love for animals.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
Be willing to perform hands-on work, including cleaning.
Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Be able to stand for the duration of a shift and frequently stand, walk, and climb stairs.
Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Experience working with dogs and cleaning kennels.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor pets’ health and well-being, including observing their waste, and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
