About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at KennelCare to provide hands-on care for pets in a pet-care facility. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and sanitized enclosures and play areas; providing food and fresh water; monitoring each pet’s health and wellbeing; supervising play; and assisting with brushing and baths. The attendant also handles laundry and pets’ belongings and reports anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager. This is a physically active role that requires being on your feet throughout the shift and frequently standing, walking, and climbing stairs. It includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents, and requires lifting up to 40 pounds. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus, but eager candidates who are new to the field are welcome.

Requirements

A strong love of animals.
A calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on feet for the duration of the shift and to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.

Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
