Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)

About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Fondren 5 Star Pet Resort. The role provides hands-on care for pets in a resort setting, including maintaining clean and safe spaces, serving food and water, monitoring animals, supervising play, and assisting with grooming and bathing. The work is physically active and involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently and remain on one’s feet for the duration of a shift.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including their behavior and waste.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pet play and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bath time.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
