Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at It's a Dogs Life. This hands-on role involves caring for pets in a pet care facility, helping keep them safe, comfortable, and happy. The work includes cleaning and sanitizing enclosures and play areas, feeding and providing water, monitoring pets, supervising play, assisting with brushing and bathing, and handling laundry and pet belongings. The position requires being on your feet throughout shifts and working around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Pay starts at $14.00–$16.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste and reporting unusual findings.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
