About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Lone Star Pet Lodges. The role involves hands-on care of pet guests in a pet care facility, helping keep animals safe, comfortable, and healthy. It requires working on your feet for the duration of a shift and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Pay starts at $11.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets' belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
