Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Doggy Haven Resort. The role involves hands-on care of pet guests in a pet resort setting, including keeping animals and their spaces clean, comfortable, safe, and well cared for. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The position reports to the General Manager. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome. Pay starts at $17.50–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. Destination Pet describes itself as a pet-care network offering services such as daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and veterinary care.
Requirements
- Demonstrated love of animals.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Be willing to perform hands-on work that can get dirty.
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to remain on one's feet for the duration of a shift.
- Be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their elimination, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise playtime and activities, including fetch.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure clean items are available.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
