About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Paw Print Inn to care for pets in its day care and boarding environment. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and sanitized pet enclosures and play areas; providing meals and fresh water; monitoring the health and well-being of pet guests; supervising play; and assisting with brushing and bathing. The attendant also handles laundry and pet belongings and reports unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager. This is a hands-on, on-your-feet role that may involve physical work and exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The position reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

Must have some pet care experience.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently and remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
Must be available to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be willing to work hands-on and be exposed to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
A calm and professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of prior kennel or animal care experience is preferred.
A strong love of animals.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure they are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
