Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)

About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Lone Star Pet Lodges. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests, including maintaining clean and safe areas, providing food and water, monitoring pets, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and bathing. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one's feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of pets, including observing their waste, and report unusual concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure pets have clean items.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
