About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Sunny Acres Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests, including maintaining clean and sanitary enclosures and play areas, serving food and water, monitoring pets’ health and behavior, supervising playtime, and helping with brushing, bathing, laundry, and pet belongings. This is an active, on-your-feet job that may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. The facility is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the position requires open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pay starts at $14.00–$15.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips. The role reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

A strong love of animals.
A calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work, including tasks that involve getting dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift and frequently stand, walk, and climb stairs.
Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, during the facility’s operating hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor each pet guest’s health, happiness, and waste, and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing pets.
Handle laundry and pet belongings to keep them clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
